1st Gymnasium of Syros is the first Gymnasium in Greece, first operating 1833 in its own building (main buildings of the University of the Aegean). His distinguished students included Eleftherios Venizelos, Andreas Sygros, Manos Eleftheriou, Giannoulis Halepas and Konstantinos Volanakis.

Syros 1st high school participates for the first time in the radio contest “kanto n akoustei” with a song entitled “oikolaloi” which is the name of our enviromental group.
