Me to We to Us

Description:

The basic idea of the song is that change of perception from “Me” to “We” can drive us to a better self and a better world. It addresses issues such as helping fellow human beings, cooperation, understanding and respect for each other’s diversity.The lyrics were created after a discussion with the children on the subject of the competition and the final choice between the works of two students which were the result of their own thinking, without my intervention. The choice was made by the students.Melody and rhythm are also a product of their own self-action. The technical part of the sound and the midi instruments is mine, however the students contributed to the selection of the instruments, some rhythmic and melodic ideas and a critique on the relationship between the sound levels of the instruments and the voices, telling me what they wanted to change and giving me feedback. The song was created exclusively from a distance and the students’ voices are recorded from mobile phones as we did not have the opportunity for a live meeting.
