Podcast: Tribute to Doo-wop music
This show will pay a small tribute to a musical genre, which perhaps not many people know ever existed, Doo-wop. Doo-wop is a genre of rhythm and blues music that originated in African-American communities during the 1940s. It features vocal group harmony of three, four, or more singers that achieves a catchy melody line over a simple beat with little or no instrumentation. The lyrics are simple and usually talk about love. The peak of this fine music came in the 50’s and 60’s. From this time you will hear songs that became big hits at the same time.
