Tom Petty was an American singer-songwriter, producer and actor as well as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Heartbreakers, founded in 1976. He recorded a total of 16 albums. He has sold more than 80 million records worldwide in his career, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He and the Heartbreakers joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
