Catholic elementary school in Pozega
-The Catholic elementary school in Požega is located in the center of the city, in Pope Ivan Pavla II Street. No. 6, in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral of St. Teresa of Avila and the House of Pope John Paul II, and on the other side it is bordered by the building where Dobriša Cesarić was born. Likewise, there is a complex of buildings in the vicinity that houses the elementary school of Antun Kanižlić, the Monastery of the Sisters of Mercy and the building of the Diocese of Požega.
Students are enrolled in the school from the wider city and county area (the city of Požega, the wider city area: Aslanovci, Varelovac, and Novi Mihaljevci and Kaptol), and students come to school on foot or are brought by their parents.
How is Catholic elementary school different from public schools? There are many differences, but it is enough to highlight what Požega bishop Dr. Antun Škvorčević said to parents and the first generation of students on the first day of school, which is the method of love connected to God.
“When someone takes steps in life in connection with people, it is precious, but it is even more precious when he does it in connection with God. Connection with God has never harmed anyone, but on the contrary, it has helped man to develop in the widest dimension. Therefore, love and connection with God is an integral part of the special method of this Catholic primary school of ours”.
