“Without This You Don’t Live”

Dear Organizers,
we are from the Thessaloniki Special Junior High School . Our school has 62 students in 4 grades (Primary, First, Second, Third). Over the last two school years, 30 of them have formed the school’s environmental team, which is developing the program “A World full of water … a drop full of life” related to water, this precious natural resource-good.
Through the actions, training sessions, discussions, experiential workshops within the program, the song “Without This You Don’t Live” was created through creative writing. The lyrics of the student Anestis Sumelidis (P1) were invested with music by music teacher Dimitris Papadopoulos and finally the student Dimitris Tsefereklis (P1) and other students sang it. Then, with the encouragement and guidance of the teachers in charge of the program, a video clip was created to invest it with images. Most of the students from the environmental group participated in the creation of the video, selecting photos from the actions of those two years, typing subtitles, developing their ICT skills, enlisting their imagination to create new photos, slogans and illustrations match the message of the song. The song was performed twice, one with only Dimitris and one with more performers. Therefore, there are two versions of the video. Following a joint decision, we send to the Student Radio Competition “Kanto nakoustei 2020” with the theme “We emit a signal of danger, we embrace the earth.” The one in which the performer is Dimitris Tsefereklis (we considered it better). However, we decided to send you both videos, if there is no problem.

The joy of joining us is great and we hope with our song to raise awareness, through Student Radio, to the student community about water conservation. Although the technical feasibility of our effort is limited (the means for recording and filming were simple) as we lack professional equipment, we believe our message is STRONG!
