Description:

Participation of the Music School of Ioannina “Nikolaos Doumbas” in the competition “Do it to be heard” 2022 with the theme “Traveling” in the Lyceum category.

During the process of creating the song, the role of the responsible teacher was purely auxiliary (animating, organizational and educational).

The students of the 3rd Lyceum class in mid-November were excited by the announcement of the competition. In the following days they prepared two songs with guitar, one in Greek and one in English lyrics, compositions by a student and a schoolgirl respectively. Soon they ended up with the song with the Greek lyrics and in the meetings – discussions with the responsible teacher the weekly rehearsal was set. At the initiative of the students, the other instruments were gradually added, piano (2nd Lyceum class), violin (1st Lyceum class) and percussion (3rd Lyceum class). The other students contributed to the final configuration of the song, each adding their own personal element and the role of each musical instrument. Leaving their imagination free, they unfolded their talent and worked creatively. That is, while in the beginning it was an individual composition, it ended up being a group result.
It should also be mentioned that the students performed the song from memory, no score were written except for the lyrics and a piano guide (chord symbols and form). As for the poster, it is an original creation of the schoolgirl who sings the song.
The rehearsals were integrated in the schedule of the Lyceum ensembles (1 hour / week) during the months of December and January, while in February the recording of the song took place at the school with the help of school teachers and the material and technical infrastructure of both the school. unit but mainly of teachers.
