THE MELODY OF COMPANIONSHIP

Description:

The idea for our radio message came about through the activities we did with the children for the song for the contest.
The children were trying to coordinate and tune in with the voices and sounds of musical instruments creating a commotion. Through discussions we had, they realized that it takes cooperation and a common will for a melody to emerge.
They carefully selected the words themselves that would contribute to this collaboration out of fairytales we had read and through games relating to their feelings and the feelings of others. They talked about their need for love, playing, friendship, security, safety, happiness, their fears and sadness. These are needs that all children around the world have and that it takes everyone’s desire to help.
Through games with sounds, they recognized: animals’ voices, sounds from everyday life, sounds from nature, war sounds, sounds that man himself makes in various situations, such as the sound of sleepiness, happiness, sadness, pain, love and anger. They also comprehended the notion of people experiencing different emotions in the same situations, therefore respecting the importance of the reactions and feelings of other people.
Our surroundings, the animals, nature, our city, all of these are affected by our behavior and attitude, and it’s important to respect them and help out in order to live harmoniously with others.

Each person has their own voice.
All creatures speak in their own way! Listen!
Everything on this planet tells its own story!
All together as one, we can play the music of joy!
Oh! What is that commotion?
Let’s go over it again! How are we going to make it? In what way?
I listen! I take notice! I feel! I share! I care! I understand! I respect! I set free!
I love! Only in this way will our voices blend in to sing the anthem of joy!
All together as one will we make the beautiful sounds of life!
