Podcast: Peace is what I ask
It is with great pleasure that we once more participate in the student radio competition «Καν’ το ‘ν’ ακουστεί 2023» with our song “ Peace is what I ask!” We had lengthy discussions about such a burning topic. The children got angry and felt strongly about how unfair it is when someone attacks people who live peacefully, to experience pain and loss without being at fault. Our history is full of such events. This led us to many questions. We wrote all these down in the form of lyrics and decided that there is no actual world peace. We accompanied those lyrics with sweet and intense melodies that reflected our feelings. Our 6th Grade class play the chello , classic and electric guitar, keyboard, metallophone instruments , the davul drum and other drums, consciously asking for peace. Enjoy our performance!https://youtu.be/BQ11rVHmgTE
Lyrics:
Peace is what I ask. I want with words to lap your ears. To inspire you with the goods of peace. But even if we join our hands in love, do you think that peace could ever be granted? In a world with war, where can I find peace? To hate and misery, who gives his heart? No creature around us can have security. Pain and loss, who might be able to endure? Peace in our world cannot succeed. And those that can sight it, they may be blind. People can easily do anything for a good payment, for a good payment. I am bored of weapons, of slavery, of pain, it is joy and hugs what I only want. Peace, peace this is what I ask for. We get entangled in our war crazy game, which seems to give passion and thrill. And then I wonder is peace cowardice? Is resistance to what you love a sin? Peace in our world cannot succeed…
